On leaving university I was offered a trainee position with a local accountancy firm. Without any previous accountancy knowledge I entered one of the biggest learning curves I have ever experienced. However, having now completed my first year the next two aren’t nearly as daunting.

It is certainly very tough, but with a supportive firm that does everything it can to look after you it certainly helps and when you get your exam results and you’ve passed it is the best feeling in the world.
